I'm sure this question has been raised before if so mods please move this way it belongs.
I live in Louisiana insurance pricing that I've seen here is around 23,000 a year for a startup, Mississippi seems to be around 8,000 a year, how should I incorporate in Mississippi and live in Louisiana, is this possible.
Anyone in these areas willing to discuss this further please PM me I need a little advice on where to go from where I am. Ready to buy a truck but trying to get my ducks in a row first.

That $8k per year for insurance is way way way under the quotes I hear from various other people. The $8k is so low it sounds more like someone is quoting a price for something else than CDL.

Instead of waiting through that site to get to the insurance part here's a copy of what it says.

    ""
Commercial Truck Insurance Rates By State
Cheapest State for Commercial Truck Insurance
Commercial Truck Insurance could be a necessary cost of being a trucker. Everybody should have it, and it’s there to ensure you in case of a crisis. Whereas it is fundamental in each state to have truck insurance, the sum and cost of commercial truck insurance can alter radically depending on where you live. Due to the laws of the state where you are living for driving in, the rates of Commercial Truck Insurance can be radically lower or higher.

The cheapest state within the USA where offers commercial truck insurance is Mississippi. In a few occurrences, Mississippi’s rates are four times less than other states. For a case, an evaluated cost of commercial truck insurance in Mississippi is approximately $4,664, whereas, in the state of Georgia, it would take a toll of about $20,641 for each.""

The freight brokers and customers are going to have their requirements for any carrier moving their freight. Just because some insurance company may sell you $4k worth of truck insurance if that insurance doesn't provide the amount of coverage required by the broker or the customer you may not have freight to move.

I would strongly suggest you ask your question over in the Owner-Operator section where the people have experience buying truck insurance. This section is primarily directed at new drivers just entering the industry, mostly as company driver employees.
