Injector o ring question

    Series 60 12.7 pre emissions loss of power misfire and coolant pushing out of reservoir. my first thought was sunk liner head gasket. But after checking injector #5 out bolt holding it was loose big o ring was completely destroyed and graphite crush washer was missing. Could this be the cause of my issue and not blown head gasket?
    Here is the photo of injector and o ring

    btw crush washer on it was just me checking something out it wasn't there when I took it out

    No. Look at the cup, it May be cracked
    Coolant surrounds the cup, not the injector

    Loose hold down will definitely cause performance issues, allowing compression into the fuel

    Looks like you have the injectors out. Pressurize thr cooling system and you can see if any cups are leaking

    Ok I didn't know coolant went around the cup I thought it was injectors. What's the easiest way to pressurize cooling system?

    Ok I will buy a kit since it can arrive here tomorrow. I think it makes sense now that cup or cups could be bad if so then compression would enter be entering cooling system correct?

    Yes. A cracked cup can cause compression in the cooling system, while also allowing compession to enter the fuel system.

    Isn’t there a member here that is a machinist that can replace injector cups without removing the head ? I forget his username.

    60 series cups are set from the top, but swaged and machined from the bottom. There may be new methods I don't know of though. CAT and Volvo cups can be done up top. Not sure of N14, never seen one fail
