Working with a 98 dd ddec 4 12.7 s60. Will a injector cut out test be able to detect worn nozzles or tips? Or is it better to do a benchtest? Also when replacing injectors should the codes be changed. Old school dd guys say set all injectors to 75. Your thoughts?

A cut-out test will identify weak cylinders, which is not always bad injectors. In my experience if a cylinder or two show weak at idle, but improves at 1000 RPM, it's an indication of a poor spray pattern on the injector. As far as trim codes, YES, change them to what the injectors say.

Anytime a cut-out test shows an issue, you should double check overhead adjustment, check for aerated fuel and fuel pressure.
