P&S is what it is....A Flatbed trucking Co. Good sized one too, about 1400 trucks total. They have Company, lease purchase and owner operators.
Scott and Robbie, the owners of P&S also own or have invested in
Blair Logistics, A 100 percent owner op company. You must have all your own equipment
MTB Transportation An owned subsidiary of P&S Transportation
Montgomery Trucking
One other truck company, the name escapes me right now.
As well as 2 Brokerage companies. ( that you will never hear about )
All companies EXCEPT Montgomery are paid on percentage. Montgomery is paid milage
All company trucks are governed at 63 MPH.
My understanding is that all new hires are placed on e-logs. They use Peoplenet
Some of the newer trucks (2013 and newer) have any or all of these systems. Adaptive cruse control, Lane departure, side radar (like vorad) in cab cameras.cmobby Thanks this. -
thanks for the feed back Espressolane

How's the money (gross weekly) at p&s now? Good company to work for?

I just did orientation with them a few weeks ago. I am with their new (mostly dedicated) division, MTB Transport. So far, I am impressed with them. I know I have been here for a second, but they seem to handle their business and don't make excuses to drivers. They have plenty of freight here for all their companies.
The driver reward program P & S are part of is awesome. We at MTB are currently not eligible because our company is not big enough to participate. As I write, there are 25 drivers here at MTB. P & S have 900 drivers and the rest are at Blair (O/O's).
P & S is a good deal. All there tractors are 3 years old or less, no joke. -
Does the Lease/Purchase trucks run 63mph also or are they governed at 68 or 70 mph?
Specially interested in Blair L/P Program. Any comments are helpful, Thank You. -
I believe they bought Grayson Mitchell out of Emporia Virginia.

Rumor has it they made a spirited attempt to buy out Builder's too. A company trying to grow that fast is a bit scary, in my very personal opinion. Eventually, your growth outpaces the amount of freight and driver availability and things start to slide downhill.
That said, I've talked to a number of P&S drivers, and they all seemed to be relatively happy with their jobs. Decent pay, decent treatment from the company, decent amount of work available, all the things flatbedders generally look for in a carrier. -
The radar unit installed in the bumper is intended for collision avoidance in parking lots and other close quarters. Having your entire rig controlled by an idiot computer is very bad. The unit went off on me twice with nothing around me. The first time I was on dry roads and the second time I was on ice/snow. I was able to steer out of trouble, but not by much. I was nearly killed because the system "thinks" it knows when to react. Any units like these should not be allowed to function on the open road. More people will be injured or killed because of them.
The E-Log system is lousy. It fails a lot and is relatively inaccurate. You can change locations without moving. It is land-based.
Another company "MMT" was started last year. They are supposed to be dedicated out of Michigan, I think. Yet they are snagging loads from the rest of the group.
A lot of what has happened at the P&S group is negative. A former office insider who worked with their personnel told me they have screwed up some contracts because of logistics. If one company goes out of business, they will just change the decal on the side of the door and the driver will now work for another "company." It's all P&S, no matter what they tell you.
