So I'm thinking about getting off the road and do local work. Was looking around and I Saw A. Duie Pyle hiring a position about 20-30mins from me. So are they a good company? What exactly do they do? Lists they want hazmat and tanker. Which I got already.

good company, i never applied, i do not like slip seating, and taking all my stuff out at each terminal for a layover.

they used to ask if you drove at night, cuz they didn't want "'sleepy drivers", that never drove all hours.

LTL TL, line haul, doubles, hazmat, the usual as does Old Dominion, ABF, New Penn, Saia, etc, etc, etc.

was once tough to get into.

took forever once application was turned in, to get anywhere's.

Not bad. You'll need to do a special physical for them on top of a regular DOT. I forget what it’s called but you sit in the seat and test your strength abilities and what not.

If I’m not mistaken Pyle pays by the hour. As a new hire you will more than likely be assigned P&D. Depending on the service center you will based from, P&D is not exactly what I would recommend for someone that is winding down their career, it makes no difference if you’ve been driving since Jesus was a child, your the newbie and will get the grunt work hand freight bust your balls delivering. Guys half your age, but been with the company decades before you have earned the prime shift/route, etc. Seniority ‘in the industry’ don’t mean squat, it’s all about seniority at the company that rules the day. This is pretty much at all LTL companies.

Based on my age. I hope they don't have 15 year olds driving the trucks
