Ok so it been almost 4 years since I have been OTR. Looks my local gig is about to dry up and I'm going back to long haul. The thought of having to idle all night makes me cry. But first things first. I'm prolly in a small group of people that feel the same way as I do. But I hate nothing more to be out in the heat chaining down and tarping my load and be soaked with sweat then have to sit in my seat in my truck. Then sometimes drive 100 miles before I can get to a shower. I know I seen a website that had a type of collapsible shower for a semi a while back ago. I looked for it and can't find it. I thought about building a shower in place of one of my cabinets behind the passenger seat, but theres not enough room. I have a 2002 Century Mid Roof EXT and its got the headroom for a shower of some type but not for anything permanent. Does anyone have a shower in there truck that you can pull out and put away when your done? If so or if anyone has any other ideas do help with this idea. I just want to be able to shower after I get dirty from securing my load. Thanks
In truck shower?

There was a big thread on this a few weeks ago. Try one of those camping showers that you just hang up.
-
Getting the shower part is easy.(water)
leannamarie is right a camp shower would work.
The hard part where do you drain the water?
Rigging up a curtain wouldn't be that hard. -
Your also going to have to worry about the moisture and mildew. The truck wasn't designed with a shower in mind, so what about ventilation?
-
No Kiddin'4wayflashers, Lite bug and RubyEagle Thank this. -
As far as the ventilation and mildew that usually comes from HOT water. The water used would be stored in a plastic RV Motor home style water tank stored under the middle of the bunk. I don't plan on heating the water as room temp is fine with me. And my idea on the plumbing I would just cut a hole in a hidden area of the cab floor. The shower I seen a while back they sell at certain TA's. I think it was invented by a former trucker. It has a bottom that collects the water and pumps it to a storage tank. So if I eliminate the storage and just have it pump to my in cab plumbing I put in I would be good to go without worrying about over filling the used water. I know some of this all sounds like alot of trouble but I just hate being dirty and sweaty and then sitting in my drivers seat that I have to spend hours in after I'm clean. And I'm not trying to use this to replace all my showering but just when I get really bad at a place of pickup with all my nasty tarps and rusty chains and such.

This does seem like alot of work - why not wear break away coveralls and wet wipes? The coveralls would take some time to pull on and then just pull (the snap kind) and their off, use the wipes to wipe down your arms and head, or use the water idea like roadkill suggested. Sorry, I understand wanting to stay clean (I'm a woman), just trying to give you other ideas. Good Luck - you may just be on your way to inventing something ever trucker wants, and we can say we knew you before you were rich and famous! (Just remember WiseOne when you get the millions......oh and of course me!) LOL

Ok I found the guys site that invented the shower. When I go to order one there on backorder. But anyway its called the Hartline Portable Shower so everyone can see what I was looking at doing. Do a search since I cant put a link to it.
