Before you flame me I'm prescribed it to only take before bed to sleep. But should I even worry about it since the dot only does a 5 panel drug screen. I already have my med card. Any advice would really be good. Thanks

im not familiar with that drug but if its not on dot's black list of prescription drugs that are not allowed. if it shows up on your drug screen you just have to send your prescription to the MRO and a passed drug screen will be sent to the company.

i was hit with a positive for codine once (prescription cough medicine) i faxed a copy of the prescription label on the bottle with my name on it to the MRO and then a passed drug screen was sent to the company with no mention of the prescription.

Better be upfront with Xanax. Sometimes Xanax will show up, it stays in your system 5-7 days. Stop taking it, and find an alternative. Or else, you won't be driving.

It's a depressant. DOT frowns upon them, same with ambian and other sleep meds/ depressants. And with good reason. There are safe alternatives out there, try and find some of them, these types of drugs, depending on what they are and how your body reacts, can be extremely dangerous while behind the wheel.

If you disclosed it on your medical long form and have a prescription you have nothing to worry about as far as the DOT goes. A company and their insurance carrier might think differently.

They do prescribe it normally for anxiety and occasionally for insomnia. When you go trucking I guarantee you won't have trouble sleeping. I would stop using them. Tell your doctor you are about to go driving and see what he says. He prescribed them before he knew you were going to be a truck driver. You really need a clear head driving and have nothing in your system that might fog your brain or effect your reaction times or alertness. A fraction of a second can mean the difference sometimes.

Treats anxiety, panic disorder, insomnia (trouble sleeping), and anxiety caused by depression. This medicine is a benzodiazepine and will show up in a drug screen. Best to quit taking the drug.

Ask your doctor to switch you over to zoloft. It is accepted with a waiver from your doctor.Does not cause drowsiness and unlike xanax it will not screw up your memory.

I wouldn't tell anyone anything about what your taking or why . Opens up the door why your on it and any medical history. In a short time down the road all files will be open for scrutiny and for DOT. Plse get off the drug if you can , BENZOS if taken in excess are highly addictive . I have a driver friend on it , he still is working after drug tests.
