Hey guys, anyone knows if i am allowed to drive a car if my cdl was canceled?
Notice says do not operate a motor vehicle.
I am not a trucker anymore. -
Was your license suspended for failure to take care of some traffic/rules violation or downgraded due to failing to keep a medical card up to date?
If it was suspended for legal reason's, then no you cannot drive any vehicle.
If you failed to keep a medical card up to date and your CDL was downgraded to an operator license, then you can drive any vehicle not requiring a CDL. -
Received a letter saying I was cancelled as of 08-13-2017 for no medical card. If I get one will I have to start all over with test or just provide the card?

I say call your local DMV office on monday...and ask them

You have to provide a DOT med card to the state DMV. This can be done by getting a Current medical physical from a DOT approved doctor. Then you Fax/take the card to the DMV office and have it put in your file that you have a current up to date physical. It is called self certification and has been effect for a couple of years. Your med cert is good for 2 years unless you have an under ling condition that reduces that to 1 year or less. You have to recertify every time you get a new physical. If you do not do this, your CDL is downgraded to a normal operator's license.

I recommend doing your physical a month in advance and send it into your state Dmv IMMEDIATELY. . In my state (NY) the won't send you reminders of your physical about to expire, but you do it very close to your expiration date it takes between a week to a month for DMV to put it through their system. If it lapses before they put in through your cdl shows "commercial driving not permitted" or something along those lines. Which means, let's say your expiration was the first day of October and you got your physical done the day before and just sent it in. That means after October 1 if you are driving a truck, get pulled into an inspection, you'll be in trouble, at least with a cdl from my state. Some night have that grace period but a year ago I almost found out the hard way my state doesn't. Also make sure the doctor performing that exam uses the latest form for the medical card or your state's Dmv WILL reject it. I did mine 2 weeks before the expiration, faxed it in only to find they rejected it because my doctor used the old version. I had to make a special trip home, wait until after Memorial Day weekend, take an additional day off to go into the DMV with the correct form to get my cdl priveleges reinstated, which cost me three days of work, and I had only been out of the house a week when the issue came up. My company now requires it done a month in advance.
