think I found a dangerous error in the on-line training course at the school
I am going to attend.

On this question.
If your air brake system safety relief valve opens a couple of times, you should have your system repaired. False
The online course says false...I think the answer is true.

Every DOT CDL manual states that the compressor governor should
stop pumping air *cut out" at 125 psi. If the governor is not working
pressure will shoot to 150 and cause the safety release valve to
kick in ? ALL DOT manuals state that If the safety valve releases air,
something is wrong. Have the fault fixed by a mechanic.
See below...

5.1.2 – Air Compressor Governor
The governor controls when the air compressor will
pump air into the air storage tanks. When air tank
pressure rises to the "cut-out" level (around 125
pounds per-square-inch or "psi"), the governor
stops the compressor from pumping air. When the
tank pressure falls to the "cut-in" pressure (around
100 psi), the governor allows the compressor to
start pumping again.
5.1.6 – Safety Valve

A safety relief valve is installed in the first tank the
air compressor pumps air to. The safety valve
protects the tank and the rest of the system from
too much pressure. The valve is usually set to
open at 150 psi. If the safety valve releases air,
something is wrong. Have the fault fixed by a
mechanic.

- So if the compressor governor is broken or out of adjustment
the relief valve kicks in ? Is a broken or out of adjustment governor
a reason to have the fault fixed by a mechanic ?

First off test questions are written by "professional" test writers to be taken by students. To reference your question where in the manual does it suggest a "couple" of times? It doesn't therefore the answer is false. The manual suggests after the first time doesn't it?

It's not about reality or common sense, they want to know if you studied the material- so they want the answer they gave you in the course, not the actual, common sense answer. You're going to see a lot of similar situations in school- and in your first job.

Wait 'till you get in a driver's seat- when you're new this job is like a Monty Python movie, and they won't let you out.

You right state CDL manuals say fix if air comes out. (imlpies first time)
Guess the answer is false because you should already have fixed it. LOL

This a Swift online test. !

The question is from Swift on line course.

Nobody has answered this question ?
Why would swift teach that its ok for the pressure relief valve to trip a "couple times "

We don't know what swift is teaching you. All we know is what the question you posted was. The question as asked is false. There are only two options, one they have a wrong answer for the test question or two you should have your system repaired after the first time the safety valve opens as the CDL driver's manual suggests.

If the latter is correct then look at it this way using multiple choice.

1) If your air brake system safety relief valve opens once, you should have your system repaired.

2) If your air brake system safety relief valve opens a couple of times, you should have your system repaired.

3) If your air brake system safety relief valve opens three times, you should have your system repaired.

4) If your air brake system safety relief valve opens four times, you should have your system repaired.

5) If your air brake system safety relief valve opens five times, you should have your system repaired.

6) If your air brake system safety relief valve opens six times, you should have your system repaired.

Which one would you pick? All are correct but which one is most correct using the CDL driver's manual as a reference? Why would you decide to wait to have the system checked after it opened more than once?

They always try to trick you. I just had to renew my hazmat and I swear they try to get you to miss questions. I love it when they give you like 3 answers that could technically be correct, but you have to know which one that #### book said.
