Hey guys & gals, just wanted to provide some information that I researched and found out to be a good idea if your considering a Kaufman Car Hauler. Today when I was at my trailer hitch dealer I got to talking about what type of goose-neck I am purchasing tomorrow. He deals primarily in Big-Tex which we all know is pretty darn good and pretty darn costly too. However he informed me that he knows this particular Kaufman dealer here in Lexington NC and the salesman I am dealing with.

He asked me if I planned on getting the upgraded premium tire package. The tires that come stock on the trailer are some no-name chinese made brand. These tires have been known to blow out and cause a lot of problems for owners. I told him in fact I am upgrading to the premium tires which are Cooper Discoverer HT-3 235/85 R16 which are 14 ply tires, along with the spare tire upgrade as well. It is highly recommended that you upgrade these tires and spend the extra money. The upgrade total with spare tire was $675.00 That's worth the peace of mind knowing there are name brand good quality tires on my trailer.
They do have an even bigger upgrade package which includes larger 8,000 lb axles and Long Range Continental HTL-2 Long Distance 215/75 R 17.5 but that's another $1500.00
Just thought I would share this with you all. I got a great deal on this trailer being that it's factory direct. Total out the door for Kaufman 2 Car Hauler 35.5 foot goose-neck $6843.35. Got 3% off since I am paying in cash and not financing it.

Ok well Have a great night guys, Stay Safe and remember KEEP IT BETWEEN THE LINES

Are you sure those Cooper's are 14 ply? I don't mean to be contentious but Cooper doesn't make a 14ply in the HT3. I own a tire shop BTW. I would agree that the tires that most manufacturers put on are going to be absolute junk. I saw one yesterday that the cords inside were showing through the inner liner because the liner was so thin. If you can, go with the Gladiator QR-35. It's an all steel casing and very durable. The 17.5 option is an excellent idea as well.

I may be mistaken on the 14 ply they may be 10 ply but I know they are better than the standard chineese made ones lol

Ryan, the tire upgrade is worth it but do not get the axle upgrade unless you are getting your cdl as it will increase the trailer manufacturer gross weight rating enough to put you over the 26,001 combination weight with your 2500.
