So with summer kinda here I have already been getting the your idling to much message. Told me I was the top of all his drivers. It was kinda high as for a little bit I didnt give a crap. Its 42%. Now I am woundering is this really high? Do they always say you are the highest? And what do you do to keep cool when its 110 degrees in the sleeper?

Lol Thats kinda what I told him the first time. I asked him how I was suppose to sleep when it was 110 in my sleeper and I know cause I bought a thermometer for this reason. He didnt reply to that message.
Shaggy Thanks this. -
Well if they dont want you to idle, tell those tight wads to get their wallets out and invest in an APU.
What do these idiots expect you to do?
One of these days we are going to be confronted with a death from heat stroke and then you're gonna see one very large lawsuit, that will convince these companies and each state's draconian laws to reconsider.
These arrogant companies need a wake up call. I hope we don't have anyone threatened with losing their life. But you can't endure over 100 deg for very long, together with the humidity, that you can cut with a knife.
Stay cool my friend.Shaggy, tangerineGT and Tolan Thank this. -

I've read in these forums of drivers being terminated for too much idle time. I've been considering that issue too and that makes a good argument for running teams.

6% is an acceptable idle pct. No legal way to keep the babysitter from telling mama but there is a way. You can simply hide it and they will see it in fuel consumption OR you can replace the missing fuel with cash and like Shultz, they will know nothing.
Had a friend get a large fuel bonus from a mega by using a calculator and adding a little cash fuel.........another driver added too much and put the mpg's at 9 and the mega caught it....bonus eliminated.......

Lol , they can plain and simple suck it !!!!!
Who do you drive for ? Ask them if they would rather you kill someone because you didnt get a good nights sleep because you were sweating all night long. Witch in turns = a lawsuit for the company .
My idle percent as of right now is 35% and its gonna get higher because I don't drop this load until tomorrow. What's really killing mine right now is I have been running all nights for the last week playing that freaking 8 day roll over bull crap , so its hot during the day .
I can't remember ever getting a message about idling , and one time over winter mine was up to 52% . Lol. Now thats a little high , but hey it was really cold out. -
that is crazy high. Just get some big 12 volt fans and stick um in the window. when i was a company driver without apu or bunk heater, i kept my idle time down to 12% even in the winter.

Key words there were bunk heater and apu .
with both of those keeping idle percent low shouldnt be a problem
