Just where did you hear this?
All that is needed is the blue transponder. I still have an IPASS account.
You can use your I-PASS on E-ZPass roads, the Chicago Skyway and the Indiana Toll Road. Truckers traveling on E-ZPass roads must exchange their I-PASS transponder for the compatible E-ZPass "blue" transponder

It was in a trade mag about a month ago. Sorry I can't remember the name, but I know Indiana has already ordered signs and will start replacing them shortly.
-
Land Line had a short article about it and they were talking about it on there XM show.

Wait...I know I-Zoom is going away in IN ....but didn't think I-Pass. This was the 1st I had heard about I-Pass...

I think there needs to be a national standard on tolling and using electronic transponders to pay for it. I have a Best Pass and last I knew it only works on EZ-Pass, I-Zoom and I-Pass toll roads. Ok, Ks, Fl, and many other states it won't work on them. I think it should. I believe a standard needs to be in place to make that happen.
Roadmedic Thanks this. -
Ukumfe Thanks this.

Illinois will never phase out the I-Pass. They make too much $$$ off it and get to keep it all in their greedy pockets (compared to having to give up some $ to Ez-Pass), to the tune of $2 million dollars a day revenue..... When they built the 294 tollway, it was to be in place until it was paid for, and then do away with the tolls, but you know how politicans like that free money.

The Indiana Toll Road offers the license plate transponder. A friend of mine has one on his W900 and he hasn't had any problems with weather or theft issues.
