Starting fluid in a spray can is the easiest way. Kero or diesel will work too. But either is best , just don't knock your self out...........

Brakekleen or carbkleen do the best jog + elbow greace!

Brakleen, diesel, wd40 all work with some work.
I use Tar X, works with less effort. If used within a couple days of the tar sticking, it melts it off.

Xylene will dissolve it. Your rag is what will scratch where you rub so rub lightly. Once the tar is off use soap and water to remove any residue left from the solvent.
Sherwin Williams carries Xylene. I think I saw some at Lowe's paint aisle too. -
pb blaster works great and also good for getting ride of sign glue off the paint and any other part.....

go to the cookware section look for lagostina cleaner it works great on stainless

Magic erasers WILL scratch the chrome/stainless (that is the voice of experience in case you didn't recognize it LOL)Goo-Gone works good (especially in the sun) My personal favorite is good "old fashioned" brake clean, not the new "unchlorinated" stuff the good old fashoned red can, cancer-causin',tree-killin' (what ever their complaint is) stuff.CRC and NAPA still make the good stuff.

If the solvents you are mentioning aren't touching the spots, I suggest you aren't dealing with asphalt.

Gasoline got it off my truck and wife's car
