    Hi brokers,

How do I get a list of local dry van shippers in DFW area? I know most brokers cold call but have you found a good way to market and get leads? Direct mail? Internet ads? I am a carrier and want to market my little company just locally. I appreciated your help.

Good luck with your request. You're asking brokers to share their information...information they use to make a living...with you, their erstwhile competitor.
I admire the audacity but I'm not sure you'll get the information you need. Especially the way trucking is right now.

I mean one can share it with me or I can find it the hard way. There are thousands of brokers, I am sure one will share it with me.

No problem, let me give you a list of my customers and their rates. Or maybe just make the 100's of calls the rest of us do.

I am not asking you to give the name of the customers. All I am asking you how do you find the people to cold call. If that is too much for you to share then move right on. I just like you doing business. There is nothing wrong with finding my own customers.

Your asking for your competition to give you
Their inside information, that took them years to get.
As you can see your not gonna get a answer.
Your gonna have to do it the hard way like
    They did.

Why don't you tell us who you're pulling for now,
So one of us can low ball you out the door.
That's basically what your asking someone else to do.
    Good luck.

If you were in northern California or southern Oregon I could give you a few customers. "Course, they don't ship on a steady basis, they don't like to pay their bills, they're demanding about almost everything, and nobody local will haul for them.
If a broker "gave" you a customer list it would probably be full of people like that.
Do your homework. The yellow pages is a good start. Start making calls and knocking on doors...and stay after it steady. It;s not easy 'cause it's not ever easy.
Just don't expect a broker or another trucker to hand over his customer list.

On a side note, Do yellow pages still come out anymore? They used to be either tied to your mailbox or laid on your front porch.

    Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.
