It is illegal, but falls under the ol' don't ask / don't tell rule. The only way you can get in trouble is if you cheat on your girlfriend and she tells on you. Keep it in your pants, dude.

My best friend David is a huge Del da Funky Homosapien fan. He'd be pissed if I didn't know the name. :-D

Any job you have aside from your driving gig is legally required to be counted as part of your 70 hours, i.e. logged as on duty

It could bite you in the ###. The government does have access to employment records, if they put 2 and 2 together you are screwed. If you are ever in an accident with injuries or fatalities you will be investigated thoroly. They will find out, even if you did nothing else wrong you will go to prison, could get manslaughter. Thats worst case sanario, it's your life not mine do what you want

Best case if you are found out you can get a $2750 fine per instance. So that's every week they find out about. Hope that second job pays well

Did you folks MISS the fact that his "driving" job doesn't require a CDL ??????????? Pay attention before giving advice that doesn't apply, please. Thanks. To the Origanal Poster : No, the hours of service rules don't apply to any kind of job that doesn't require a CDL. Were you trying to catch some folks unawares ? It looks like you succeeded if you were.

He said he has 2 driving jobs. What i got out of it was mon to Fri was a cdl job. Weekend tow job is non cdl. Correct op? In this case all hours worked at both jobs have to be logged as on duty. So before you criticize us you pay attention
