I have the Plantronics Legend that uses the magnetic cord. I can charge mine when going down the road. I leave the cord plugged in to the usb outlet in the lighter socket, so all I have to do is put the headset close to the cord and the magnet hooks it up. I have a cubby hole close to the outlet that I can set the headset in while it is charging. The cord is about 7 or 8 inches long.

I don't have any problems hearing people with the Legend. They don't hear the truck noises either. If it is real windy outside, they can hear the wind noise.

I had the Plantronics Legend for a long time. I liked it fine, but the battery life was really short. I was constantly charging it and I don't even talk much while driving.
When it finally broke I bought the Blueparrot B350-xt that I use now. I like it much better. I find the sound quality better and it feels more comfortable as well. I couldn't stand having the Legend in my ear unless I was actively using it. Battery life is better too. I can't remember the last time I charged it, but like I said I don't talk on it much so ymmv. If you look around, you can find one with a pretty big rebate too. I think Love's has a deal like that going right now. -
Why don't you just charge it?.. just kidding. Carry on
