I have something called a "set aside" suspension on my DMV printout? What should I tell companies?

Dated May 2017, never went into effect, boils down to:

    1. Got a letter threatening future suspension for some allegedly missing insurance (not actually missing)
    2. Called them up before the date, talked to somebody at DMV, repeated my info
    3. They said "some account number was misspelled or something, just a paperwork mishap so never mind, you're good to go"
    4. Got a letter saying I'm OK (not sure if I kept that though...oops)

So now a DMV printout still shows that, but as a "SET ASIDE SUSPENSION" (no points). Meanwhile, a background check done in 2018 had no trace.

When talking to schools/paid CDL programmes, should I mention this? Avoid drawing attention? Or what?

I would not worry about stuff that did not happen. And find that letter or get another copy of it. If the DMV has nothing left then there isnt anything for you to worry about. If you can show you were insured through that time period that is even better.

    I guess I'm just nervous?

This CA DMV printout is all over the dang place.

The never-actually-happened "set aside suspension" shows up as not one but TWO line items, both with the same dates.

Then I have old accidents but no fault info, hell one of them doesn't even have a license plate or any info listed.

But.... it also says I have ZERO POINTS.

So do I have a clean-ish driving record or sketchy af??? Hell if I know lol

A set aside just means that the state has decided that the reason(s) a license was suspended were not valid. A set aside should basically clear the driving record. It’s a good thing but I suspect you should know that because for a set aside to happen an administrative hearing had to take place, and they don’t happen without your knowledge.

    Administrative hearing?

Not with my participation it didn't... unless waiting on hold for 9 minutes and reading off some insurance info to some lady on the phone counts as one?

Yeah... except for one teeeeny tiny discrepancy

    2019-07-27 12.48.38.png

Namely: I learned the darn term from the driving record on which it, by its very definition, shouldn't ever appear
