    1. why do so few have auto tire inflation?
    2. Any brands to avoid completely?
    3. best brands?
    4. why doesn't anyone run super singles on them?
    5. can you put a lift axle on a step deck, or are they too low?
    6. Is there anything you would never haul on a step deck?

    Thanks.
Also, anyone selling a step deck for a reasonable price?

    PPNLE Thanks this.

    1. Cost more
    2. Not that I’ve seen, they all have their own little quirks brand to brand
    3. Depends what you’re gonna do with it
    4. They wouldn’t fit
    5. Yes
    6. Depends on what you have for a wagon/ ie I wouldn’t put tracked equipment on an aluminum deck, personally

I dropped one off at the dealer a couple weeks ago. He said to ask what I paid for it a year and a half or two years ago? Wouldn’t be able to get a new one specced the same for under 50% more at this point/ seemed reasonable to me

    3. Going to run the spot market.
    6. thanks. Last trailer was RGN with wood deck, so I will take this as a good tip since most I am looking at now are aluminum.
You have a listing for the trailer you are selling?

    cke Thanks this.

Nope. Dealership will handle all that/
2021/2022 (can’t recall which) Manac 48/102 all aluminum (they still call it that with their galvanized neck transition and pin plate) 10.5’/37.5’ , 18” drop, j track and j hooks, 10’1 spread, 2 double t handle boxes, 25 penny lights per side, aluminum outers. i didn’t spec it, just bought it new off the lot.
from what they said, they’ll be starting at $42k

    Why not a steel trailer?
    Why not aluminum?
Just found a 2019 steel trailer for under $28,000. Are they that much heavier? Undesirable? Brand is puma?

Yes steel is usually heavier than Combination and Aluminum being the lightest.

That puma's gonna be a pig. Think 12.5-13k empty. No boxes, no ramps, no winches even. Bunch of foward can locks..

Think'n that's more an oil field spec for sandboxes.?

You could make it work. Probably be in the 45k lbs or less freight weight though, even less after you get required imo stepdeck gear.. (ramps/levelers winches & winch track, tarps, boxes, tiedown gear, headache rack all kinds of junk)

What does a fontaine 48 steel frame, aluminum deck weigh?

Also, would I be an idiot to buy a drop deck right now?
I have been looking at the rates, and they seem to be solid in the south east?

I don’t think anything is wrong with buying right now, things are cheaper per se and when rates get higher equipment is more expensive….
