Guys have been posting here for years never ever move out on a TQL load until you have both the confirmation and the load sheet or you are guaranteed to get screwed. They will always be 2 separate emails with pdf attachments. Always insist the agent send both over to you right away. Never move until you have both. The confirmation will just have city/state for pick and delivery with no customer address or pu info. The load sheet has customer addresses, phone numbers, pu info, etc, etc. Really it's a waste of time and paper but it's how they do it unlike anyone else.

I'm going to help you out the best I can. Keep in mind they may never let you haul a load for them again.
If you have the internet truck stop click on the link for reporting brokers. It will give you instructions on how to file a TONU. It works, but with TQL its a shot in the dark.

Second find out who holds the bond on TQL. Call that institution up and request a claims form, have them fax it over and if they ask any questions keep it short and simple without telling them the whole story.
Do a little research on filing against their bond.

Third option is file a warrant in debt in small claims court. It might cost $25 or so in your city or county, but you can add that to the bill. You'll need their home address on the warrant.

You're kidding right? You have to be kidding....you can't serious think filing a small claims court for what might be $100-$150 to even $200 is a smart idea.

Let alone, filing on their bond for a TONU fee? Really?

The "last" load I hauled for TQL was so screwed up they paid me twice.
And yes I held the money for over a month.

I'll tell you how serious I am. I've done it before and I've gotten paid for it.
CRST paid me on a TONU. Reported on there credit for non payment.

ATS was in the process of being sent to collection and file on their bond. I got paid on that too.

The real serious part of this is when a truck travels over 100 miles to a shipment only to find out there is no shipment and he is not getting paid one dime.

We can't play games here, some of these companies will not pay up for there short comings and we have to hold off every one accountible.

Most of these younger guys at TQL are trying to quote under what truck market rates are so they are able to get the load, which they shouldn't know any better. They are so desperate to meet their goals as a logistics broker, but yet don't realize that they are going to have to cut under the truck market rate by a 1/3 or more just to get it covered. I have many customers that just sent out mass emails to 20+ logistics companies, and expect us to fight over it like a bunch of savages. At that point I do two things, 1) post up the load exactly how it is, and 2) ask what the truck driver wants. This saves me the time and headache because it doesn't matter what I have in the load, because I know the customer is being dirt cheap. When the driver shoots me the rate, I literally stay on hold and send the email to the customer, saying, " I have a driver for this rate, take it or leave it." If she doesn't want to pay, then no harm no fowl.

It just bugs me that everyone harps on TQL for such cheap freight and all of the issues that do happen. I know, I witnessed it first hand with a broker who sat right behind me. I got so sick of his S*** that I just moved desks to a different area away from him. If you didn't know, we have a quality control team now, that listens in on our phone calls, and digs through the complaints from carriers to justify your behalf and hit the broker to ensure justice is done with whatever happened when the load is booked.

This is funny that you mention this, "never ever move out on a TQL load until you have both the confirmation and the load sheet or you are guaranteed to get screwed." Amen to that brother. I can't tell you how many times I have waited on a dispatcher to send me back a signed rate confirmation, so I can send them the dispatch sheet. I prefer to send dispatch sheets because it saves me the trouble of having to speak with the driver. I'd rather not, because I personally believe that is the dispatcher's job. Why do I need to dispatch your driver? I already know how many calls you guys get in a single hour, and you definitely don't need TQL breathing down your neck for freaking updates every 2 seconds.

I always tell dispatchers and drivers when they are owner operators.... Please sign and fax back the rate confirmation or just email me back with the words "I accept this load" is more than enough for me to act as a "signed rate confirmation." I get it that dispatchers are even drivers and don't have the time to fax back sheets to me. The ones who have been running with TQL for awhile, I will trust and send them both, and just wait for him to send back the RC when he gets a chance at a truck stop. We are all human here, not freaking super humans....

I'd hate to say it to you Jopper, but I believe when you booked that load with the broker, you didn't confirm with him before driving 100 miles away. I personally believe this is on you for not ensuring you had the right information before moving your truck. I have never once, not paid a TONU that didn't deserve it. Though if you had this load for several hours? and never received a dispatch sheet, I would have been all over that broker looking for that information. But to make it easier for you for the next time, (if there will be a next time with TQL), next broker you talk to, ask them to speak with "Carrier Contracts" and get a written agreement signing that you have a specific amount of detention after 2 hours, and truck orders not used. You can even have it set up that if you do not receive a dispatch sheet after you signed the RC and sent it back in, within lets say a good 30 minutes (this sound a fair enough time?) then you would just fall out. We have notifications that pop up before booking a carrier if there are terms and conditions that a broker must be aware of before booking a carrier.

Today I set up a carrier with $60 detention after 2 hours, $250 TONU, and $300 layover fee. I was sent the email, and I sent it over to carrier contracts and now they have their conditions in place. In order to be booked now for that carrier, the broker must call operations to let them know they are fully aware of the terms and conditions of that carrier. I am sure you might have something like "don't give drivers comcheks" or "do not call drivers, call dispatchers only." Just food for thought to make it a little easier for yourself.

Im going to show you the way, a way that you will never get screwed with TQL or with a company that post cheap freight. This will change your life because you will be making a lot of money and helping others.

STOP HAULING FREIGHT FOR TQL OR CHEAP AGENT WITH CHEAP RATES... Its that simple.
