There’s been 1-2 lane construction closures thru there since early April starts bout 8 backups are terrible most all nite
Especially northbound where cars and trucks race down the exit lane for 16 and try to force back in right at the arrows after the 16 on-ramp
Betting it had something to do with that

Where you trying to get to??
It’s really either back north to 91 and up or maybe make Bridgeport and run up 8….
There are no major roads that are truck routes…including US1 which has low bridges

    US Foods in Perth Amboy.
I kinda figured I may have to double back up to 91 and run 691 to 84 to 684 down to 287 to 87 down to 95. If I start around 3 am I should avoid most of the traffic.

The f***** up part is that I had originally refused this load because it was an impossible dispatch (11:30 am live load, which at that time I was getting live unloaded in Concord,N.H.). I arrived at the shipper just after 1pm.

    Bud A. Thanks this.

At that time if am I’d sneak down to Bridgeport and run up 8….then avoid all the aggravation and run 84 all the way to 87…and the depending on what time you get to 87/287/17 split…either run 17-80-95(don’t mess with stayin on 17 to 3)
    Then down to exit 14
Or run 287 south to 24 which merges with 78 East just west of Newark airport

    mjd4277 and Tb0n3 Thank this.

Ok ck that I was mixin US Foods Metro and Sysco Metro…jus run all the way down 287 crosses 95 and becomes 440 at exit 10 on pike….besides southbound truck lanes of pike closed again tonight for destruction

    mjd4277 Thanks this.

So I ran I-95 south until I got to Exit 27A, took Route 8/25 north to I-84. 84 west to I-684,684 down to I-287,287 west to I-87,87 down to I-95 and the GWB. Traffic was virtually nil and was across the GWB in less than 5 minutes at the time. Made it to Perth Amboy on time with 14 minutes to spare!:D

Glad is all worked out for you….I usually don’t send people down the Deegan(87)to the GWB….since with the lower level restrictions it can be a bear with any traffic to get across 2-3 lanes in about three truck lengths

    mjd4277 Thanks this.
