Everyone knows the pain going on with the major increase in fuel prices. I'm worried the prices will continue.

Has anyone ever ran a hydrogen generator? I've ran across some professional companies that make kits for semi's claiming 15%-35% fuel savings. This would be a game changer if true. But seems like they would be more popular if they worked and didn't blow up your truck.

I knew a carpet installer a few years ago that had one on his box truck and he told me that everyone should be doing it.

Gee, Idk, I see the cost is about $4500-$5,000, that buys a lot of fuel, but depending where this all goes, probably be the business to be in. They CLAIM 10-35% savings, but it's been my experience, YOUR savings will probably be the "10%" range, the "35%", under unattainable ideal conditions. Probably warehouses full of crazy inventions, that may or may not work. Time to blow the dust off them, and try again.

Those #### things are ALWAYS scams. I have seen these kits around since i was a kid, and their always some variation of the latest and greatest thing. If they existed and worked every motor vehicle maker would use them to help beat ever more idiotic epa standards and being able to claim their vehicles were the absolite best.

Heres a perfect example of one of the most popular kits. Only a fool thinks these exist god forbid actully work. You would be better served to take the thousands and tuneing up your vehicle, changeing to a more efficent tire or a hundred other things. Sadly a lot of people are either gulible or desperate or both and buy these until someone comes along and shuts them down before they reopen under a new name.

I figured that there had to be a reason people are not using these systems. I only knew about them from my carpet installer that had built a kit for his box truck. He was a strong believer in it but I thought his truck was going blow up. His kit looked way more homemade. Talking like pickle jars and hoses.

I think we will all have to figure out how to adapt to high fuel prices. They are going to have everyone begging for electric vehicles soon.

I tried biodiesel in my duramax about 15 years ago. Some guy in my town was trying to start a business selling the refined vegetable oil. That stuff clogged my fuel filter within 100 miles. I would never run it in a large truck. Too much risk to break your injection system.

Great video.. Doesn't looks like it did anything at all. waste of money.

Pretty much anything spouts "HHO" is garbage. What's coming out of these is diatomic hydrogen and oxygen gas in a 2 to 1 ratio.

They all like to quote a study that showed significant increases in fuel economy. They neglect to point out that the cars were substantially modified to allow very lean combustion of the gasoline when the hydrogen was present. It allowed the throttle to be opened further to reduce intake vacuum. That's not doing anything for a diesel with no throttle butterflies!

And they talk of improving efficiency by adding the hydrogen. Problem is, combustion efficiency is already high on modern engines, it's the thermal inefficiencies inherent to internal combustion engines that needs improved.

It's just like any good snake oil, there's just enough truth to fool most into believing the hype.

Not that I like him but Kevin Rutherford did a long term test on dedicated route with a 10 k plus unit .. end result 3 batteries 3 or 4 boosts and he lost .2 mpg . He also had extra downtime while they reprogrammed his unit to improve it .. PS these guys push units hard in spring for a reason. All trucks improve.75 to 1.5 mpg on summer fuel and warmer weather with no add ons ..
