Wondering if I installed it right? Its a bb2 echo bord. That has 5 wire. Power: black (ground) yellow and red ( hot wier to power swich. Both to cont. 12v. Audio in: red shield. To pin 1 on mic. Audio out: to pin 1 on mic. Is this correct? Any help would be grate. Thx

Audio wire is pin 2 on a cobra 29. You need to disconnect the wire from pin 2 of the mic connector. Connect the audio "in" from the echo board to pin 2 of the mic connector.
The wire you first disconnected from pin 2, connects with audio "out" on the echo board.
Is that how you done it?
    Cobra 29 mic wiring
    pin 1...shield/ground
    pin 2...audio
    pin 3...tx
    pin 4...rx

No, my phone wont let me... But that is how every aftermarket echo board wires in. The audio has to "pass thru" the echo board.

Edit: I forgot the audio wires are probably shielded. On the audio in and out, there should be a smaller wire in the center, these are the wires you connect to pin 2 and wire from pin2.
The shield wire connects to pin1.

Here you go, I've got to get out of here so I will post the instructions

EDIT I had to fix the formatting.

THIS ECHO BOARD IS DESIGNED TO RUN ON EITHER 13.8 VOLTS OR 8.55 VOLTS. IT WILL OPERATE BEST AT 9 VOLTS. SO CHOOSE THE APPROPRIATE POWER SOURCE. IT ALSO HAS 30 db GAIN AUDIO AMP ON BOARD. ADWST THIS POT FOR MAXIMUM FORWARD SWING. NOTICE POP-OFF MODULE FOR INBOARD OR EXTERNALLY MOUNTED CONTROLS. THE EXTERNAL CONTROL POT IS DESIGNED TO FIT IN SMALLER SPACES PROVIDED BY THE MODERN RADIO. PLEASE NOTE THAT WHEN THE ECHO BOARD IS FIRST ACTIVATED, EFFECTS ARE ON FULL. TO REDUCE EFFECTS, TURN KNOBS CLOCKWISE.

    PARTS LIST:
    ECHO BOARD

ONBOARD CONTROL - OUTBOARD CONTROL WITH LOCK NUT AND KNOBS

    WIRING DIAGRAM OF ONBOARD CONTROLS:
FIRST START BY PLUGGING IN POP OFF MODULE CONTAINING ONBOARD CONTROLS.

RED - HOOKS UP TO POWER SOURCE 12 TO 9 VOLTS. THIS POWER MUST BE CONSTANT IN ORDER TO POWER AUDIO AMPLIFIER.

ORANGE - HOOK TO SAME POWER SOURCE, BUT PASS THIS WIRE THROUGH A SWITCH TO TURN ECHO EFFECTS OFF AND ON.

BLACK - THIS WIRE IS A GROUND WIRE AND HOOKING IT UP IS OPTIONAL IN MOST UNIDEN/COBRA RADIOS. IF NEEDED HOOK IT TO A CANISTER ON THE MAIN BOARD OF THE RADIO.

RED SHIELD - THIS LINE IS THE AUDIO OUT FROM ECHO BOARD. THE SHIELD WIRE SHOULD BE ATTACHED TO PIN 1 OF MICROPHONE JACK.

WHITE SHIELD - THE WHITE WIRE IS AUDIO IN TO THE ECHO BOARD. THE SHIELD WIRE

SHOULD BE ATTACHED TO PIN 1 OF MICROPHONE JACK.

PASS THE ORANGE WIRE THROUGH A SWITCH ON THE FACEPLATE SO THE CUSTOMER CAN TURN ECHO EFFECTS OFF AND ON. PRE-TUNE THE ECHO TO MEET YOUR CUSTOMERS NEEDS. YOU MAY EITHER INSTALL THIS BOARD TO THE MICROPHONE JACK AS WITH OTHER BOARDS OR BREAK THE CENTER WIRE OF MICROPHONE GAIN POTENTIOMETER AND INSTALL IT THERE.

    WIRING DIAGRAM OUTBOARD CONTROLS:
FIRST START BY PLUGGING IN THE OUTBOARD WHIP WITH CONTROL POT ON IT. ATTACHED TO THESE CONTROLS IS A RED WIRE. ATTACH IT TO EITHER 12 OR 9 VOLT SOURCE. RED WIRE FROM BOARD IS THEN SOLDERED TO THE RED WIRE THAT IS ATTACHED TO CONTROL POT. THIS WILL PROVIDE FULL TIME POWER TO THE AUDIO AMPLIFIER ON THE ECHO BOARD. WITHOUT WHICH, THIS BOARD WON'T WORK. ATTACH ORANGE WIRE TO THE UNUSED CONNECTION POINT. THIS WILL PROVIDE POWER TO THE ECHO SECTION OF THE ECHO BOARD. THEN INSTALL THE CONTROLS THROUGH THE FRONT OF THE RADIO AS WITH ALL OTHER ECHO BOARDS.

**THE CONTROL POT IS SMALL ENOUGH TO FIT ALMOST ANY RADIO, EVEN WEATHER CHANNEL RADIOS**
WITH THESE CONTROLS, CLOCKWISE IS LESS EFFECTS.

    Thanks ridge..
@Cracker42101 there are actually 2 wires in white/shield and red/shield.
The center wire from white(audio in) connects to pin2 of the mic connector, the outer shield wire connects to pin1 of the mic connector.

The center wire from red/shield (audio out) connects to the removed wire from pin2 that I referred to in my 1st post. The outer shield of this wire will also connect to pin1 of the mic connector.

Sorry for the confusion...hope this helps

    I understand lol.
Most do not use them correctly and its hard to understand them.
But on the other hand. When properly used, they sound and work very well.

Never figured out why people don't just buy a radio with a echo board built into the radio to begin with----- like oh say a connex radio....
