How's Bully Dog working out for you?

I'm a little mixed in my feelings about it. I have a 2000 c15 that was uprated from 435 to 500 when it was rebuilt. I got the BD hoping to increase the mpgs, and it didn't. OTOH the power tune clearly added 75hp to the engine.

I think the 500hp cat tune was a pre emmissions 99 tune, so there was little that the bd could do about remapping the emmissions. (ya can't fix what's not broke).

The bd power tune clearly worked, but I have little use for it, my loads are light.

Changing tunes takes about 5 mins with the downloader on my c15

BD will increase the hp more, if you request more. I haven't and probably won't.

 

I love my tuner and have been running it for more than 18 months. The unit has more than paid for itself in fuel savings. I run a lot bigger tune than many guys would ever consider (800HP+) and still saw a .4 improvement. With the normal power/economy tune I saw a overall improvement of .6 over my baseline readings. The tech support is pretty good, but could use some improvement in speed of service for custom tunes (there are only a couple guys that write the tunes). Overall I look forward to the future products BD is coming out with and already have my name on a waiting list for them.

 

have turbo and manifold on w/o tune. 5 to 6 10ths improvement. now runs like having my ppb on #3 with it off. waiting for my new toy to get to the house from BD. there is a great dealer in madison wi.super on suport.

 

Yep, Jim Buckmaster is a great salesman and very knowledgable. It also helps that he cares about his business and stocks many (if not all) of the BD products.

 

just ordered a power pup for my 06 acert sure hope to see .6 to 1mpg improvment a buddy of mine has had one for about two months with great results in mpg and on yhe hills he leaves me behind

 

I had one on my 6nz c15 cat then It got overhauled and haven't put it back on cuz the guys at cat claim they can see that its on there...I thought they weren't able to see that its on there...is it safe to back on? For warranty reason?

 

I have one on my MBN C15 and Justin at the corporate office set me up with a 6NZ power tune. This thing runs amazing now, no more smoke and the EGT's dropped drastically. i did not see any improvement in my MPG yet but I also found a y-fitting was leaking under the cab of my truck (about 1 gallon every 30min) so that was another problem. I should see a good increase now and going to order a manifold and BW turbo from Mr. Haney in a few months. But I like their product and it is easy to use. And I love that you can call them up and get specific tunes sent to you and they will help you every step of the way.

 

I would like to know the answer to this question also.

 

I dont care for mine. Im gonna jump to a pdi tune from.kurt
