It does not take long before that little rubber ring gets worn out and you can no longer get a good seal to test the pressure accurately.

What do you use to fix this besides just buying a whole new gauge?

Buy a quality gauge that doesn't wear out. Stop buying truck stop junk.

Other than that, simply ignore checking tire pressure. Most people do anyway. :)
    (Yes, that was a joke....)

And a new one costs SO much that you can not afford it?

    Find a new job.

And the hits keep coming. There must be something in the air tonight or the moon is out of alignment.

I heard you can use your points. Something you accumulate every day. To buy that tire gauge for FREE.

Or was that just counter talk?

It's highly unlikely you're going to find a new seal.

When ever I go to Speedco for oil change I calibrate my gauge against their's. Mine has been exactly 5 psi lower for the last 5 years. So I know when I inflate to 115 psi I'm only at 110.

    O Rings & Things

When you're in Fontana, CA, you can stop here and get a 5¢ O-ring to fix your tire pressure gauge.
