Guys, whats the secret/trick in removing those 3 large headed bolts that hold on the front 16" mud flaps?
I have been soaking the nuts down with panther pi$$ but not sure what to hold the top of the bolt with? - its a rather LONG/LARGE slotted head..

Yes. The largest flat head I have wont stay in the slot. I am thinking of using a thin chisel or something. I dont want to damage this bolt...
If I am not careful or use the correct tool, I will indeed damage these bolts.

Now, if them come in S/S - then I might not care, but they are painted to match and not sure about replacing them. I have heard they are KW only....if you want that design..

A piece of steel held in a pair of vise grips is how I did mine,

-A good cold chisel in a good pair visegrips will get them out ...And as for breaking them put in a good ss bolt and forget it

    Hanadarko Thanks this.

Ok, I actually picked up a nice size chisel today.
Did you just replace the bolts with SS and like a fender washer or ?

    Thanks-

I think they was 1/2 bolts about 1 1/2 long ..they are called a carriage bolts . They have a big head on them so you dont need a washer on hte outside but put a fender washer on the inside with a teflon nut

I belive you can order the right style bolts in stainless

A fender washer and an ss bolt would work just fine though.

Take a dremmel with a cut off wheel and cut a slot perpandicular to the slot in the head right in the center. Then take a drill and use the slot to center the drill and drill the heads off.
