How to regen - International 2020 - cummings engine -

Are you parked? They dk a partial re gen on the move but you dont notice it..
If your maxys are pulled,out of gear and you try to engauge the regen and nkthin happens,might be an option not turned on within the ecu..
When she needs to regen it will do it on its own but again for a full regen you gotta be parked,brks applied and running..

If it doesn't need it, it probably won't do it.

No point in forcing a regen for no reason.

 

1st why are you trying to regen?
If tech cant get it to regen then its nothin to do with company unlocking it or tech is a #######..

 

Ok, first of all, it's Cummins! Not Cummings! You can only force a regen with Cummins Insite or other diagnostic software. If the truck isn't requesting a regen, you cannot start one with the dash switches. Regens do not clear or correct DEF related faults. Regen is a separate aftertreatment system compared to the DEF system.

 

The part about regen having nothing to do with the SCR system falls on deaf ears 99% of the time.

 

If you're parked and on high idle the truck won't go into regen by itself. It will throw a message asking for a parked regen, but even if you press the dash switch it won't do a regen with the RPMs up. It will only go into regen if you're on low RPM idle.
