Driving is very stressful even if people do not realize it. I drive a truck. Even when I just drive out on the 2 lane hi way, 60 or 75 miles, my blood pressure would go way up. To the 145 - 165 over 110 area. It was just the driving which I did not even feel stressed over. I'd take pressure before and during driving to check this out.

Driving is not stressful for me. In fact my BP goes down while driving.
I have a wrist cuff to check my pressure, and I have used it while driving just to see.
It goes down by quite a bit while I am driving. I have seen it at ~116 over 64 while driving.

Driving, in general, has always been more of a hobby for me.

im in a big city on the west coast and there are clinics that cater to low income ppl. Legit clinics, all legal, go in for high BP meds and they will give you a prescription. Don’t have to give a social. A lot of things ppl do this when trying to join the military or pass work physicals.

also cut the drinking, salty foods( high cholesterol) exercise. And don’t be a fat ###.

First , you really need to get that checked and monitor it.
Second drink nothing with caffeine or sugar for 4-5 days before the exam , just water and as much as you can possibly can hold
Third don't smoke for the same time
The forth i don't recommend but I did years ago , use some blood pressure pills from a relative

I'm pretty much cool as a cucumber in most aspects of my life. Driving, even on snow/ice, dealing with idiots on the road, frurstrating shipper/receivers. You name it, I'm pretty much calm.

You put me in a doctors office for a DOT physical and my heart is racing, going into fight or flight territory. Then thinking of my BP rising makes it worse. It's almost impossible to pass a DOT physical due to that.

But I don't need medicine because my BP is normal, everywhere except the doctors office. I have 3 BP testers at home, 1 manual, 2 machine. They are all within the same range of reading from each other. I know my BP is fine.

I have a DOT physical coming up Tuesday. But I think I know the answer to the white coat. I really don't care this time if I pass or fail. If I fail, I'll let the CDL go.

Elevate your arm, explain whitecoat is all in your head, and raising your arm is too. It will drop 10 to 15 lbs.

Try ashwaghanda you can buy it at Costco in the 1000 mg. It’s a lot better than St. John’s wort. You can take 6 a day to mellow you out. try breathing excercises breath in count to 4 breath out. It works well
