Finding a company to work for is all on you. We can not tell you which company is best because all drivers are different. All you can hope for is someone in that area telling you their experience with a certain company. Then you still need to go out and find out for yourself. Try getting out and going to some of the local companies. If your record is clean and they need drivers they just might give you a shot. But calling them or sending them an application over the net is taking a big chance. Just put yourself in their shoes. Would you rather see someone in person or look at a application? This industry gives you as much as you put into it.

Local work in Cincinnati is pretty hard to come by especially with only 6 mo exp. You might get your foot on the door at a dump truck company in the spring, but you'll be laid off in the winter. I've been trucking in this area for 30 years and its always been that way. almost all of the GOOD local jobs have gone to the owner operators. Marathon Petroleum is the only petroleum co. left around here with company trucks. and they wont look at you until you have 3 yrs in the petroleum world. Con way might let you work the dock and fill in doing line haul work. For some reason Cincy has become a tough town to truck locally in here lately and don't really know why. Like I said I've been here 30 years and still having a tough time staying around the house and making a decent living. All of the "for hire" petroleum companies want 2-3 years exp. and you will start with nights and week-ends. I'm in the chemical world and it gets thinner every day. Most carriers know how bad drivers want to be local and take advantage of that, with almost poverty level wages.
