Hi. My company asks me to calculate miles in each state i drove through. You know... IFTA miles. So my question is how to calculate it quickly without having computer. I've got only GPS navigator from Garmin dizel and smartphone with Android OS.. Does anybody know if there is any app for android which can help to calculate IFTA miles?
    Thanks.

What I do is write my odometer reading down at every state line I cross.

However, you could use the map on your phone. Just go to a state and force it to show the route you traveled from state line to state line. Repeat for each state you traveled in.

Does the Garmin Diezel not keep track of the miles in each state for you?
    The Rand McNally does..

I think writing the mileage at each state line is the best way. That way you will have a written record in case an issue comes up.

As they are telling you the Garmin Dezl 760 model keeps track of what states you are in and the number of miles you have driven in each state. However, the company will have a policy on how they want you to keep track. Fastenal is a company that I worked for. We have trip sheets where we wrote down the mileage. It was the same run everyday so we wrote them down in advance. You need to follow your companies guidelines for this issue.

Don't get yourself in a dangerous place by trying to copy the odometer readings while driving. Remember, this is the government. Close is good enough.

Or use you Bluetooth headset and text it to someone, or to yourself. Hands free, of course.
