thanks i had read that 1 but didnt know what clutch adjustment to use cause some say use a bar ..but thanks again mike
-
shouldnt need a bar but you have to have the pedal pushed to the floor while you are under there making the adjustment
-
If it's like every clutch I've adjusted:
Pop off the inspection cover under the tranny
Have someone bump the motor until you see the adjusting nut, most even say ADJUST right under it.
Have someone push in the clutch and turn the nut clockwise.
Release clutch and check freeplay
Done
I think the nut is 3/4 but I may me mistaken. -
the nut will have to be pushed in while turning. there is a spring with a washer on it, needing the nut to be pushed when turned
-
Remember to check clutch brake squeeze apox 1 inch from the floor its set with the linkage.

i just got from under the truck and its a bit diff. from what most are saying...turn the adj. bolt clockwise and the cluth goes away turn it couterclock and it adj. fine..also the bolt is held in place with 2 flat metal straps the 1 on the top comes off and the bottom 1 stays on and you turn the bolt ...i took both bolts off and looked at them and the bottom bolt has the big adjuster bolt coming throught the top and you cant take the adjuster bolt off the metal, but you can take the whole assm. out and it has a small gear on it..anyway does this sound right or is this something thats not right????? the clutch feels better then it did but may have to go under and adjust just a little more cause i turned it the other way first and had nothing at all....thanks for all the help too guys paying 50.00 to adjust a bolt i can do helps keep the cost down ..mike

Reread upper posts! To turn the adjuster(worm gear assy) you have to do this first use something solid to hold clutch peddle down to the floor then install the worm gear assy that you took out now push in on the nut lock this will allow the gear assy to rotate and move the pressure plate in or out. Sounds like you either have adjusted the gear assy to far in or the pressure plate ring adjuster is locked up.I will look for a picture to post of the adjuster.
