How often for an oil change for a 1998 International 4700 DT466E box Truck

DT466e oil change interval is 10,000 miles, sooner if you are dong severe duty such as heavy stop and go traffic or off road (dirt road) environments.

 

Your welcome, my advice comes from the early years of my career, I was a technician for a local bus company that had a fleet of International's with the 466e. Since then I have owned three, this interval worked well for us, the oil samples were always good and the engines lasted well over 500,000 miles, which is well above average for the 466e.

 

you'll get different answers here too. change every 10,000... THAT'S too soon, no need to change til 25,000 miles... you can change whenever you want as long as you use lucas! e.t.c. I'll agree with the 10,000, that's when mine gets changed on my detroit.

 

I would love to see what would happen to a DT466e if you went 25,000 miles on it, it only has a 30 quart capacity, the oil gets quite dirty after 10-12k.
