$300 would be a killer deal but that isn’t out of the norm by any means.

Depends on location , chicongo or any big hub won't touch it but i had once tow in des moines ia for 40 miles at 400$ , tow truck dropped my trailer 5 miles away out of route and didn't even request a payment after truck was delivered to kw dealer , called me 30min later and i was happy to pay him
Had once fuel line blew between back engine and firewall 5 miles away from yard , towing quoted me 750 ( being literally account from the street from my yard )

Had my pete towed last week for 2400$ 320 miles one way back home but they brought the driver other truck to continue driving ...i used the guy for several times ...so 650 miles round trip for $2400 not bad at all

That’s the worst when the police have it towed because it’s crazy expensive and also shows a tow under your crash rating.

Binghamton city cops have a shady deal like that going on. A couple years ago i broke down in my personal vehicle and had a tow of my own coming. The car was completely off the road and I even had note taped on the window saying who was coming with their phone number. I should of stayed with the car, had a friend come get me. 30 min later i get a call saying my cars gone that the cops must of had it towed. Ended up costing 500 + 150 storage fee. Someone is getting kickbacks on that whole scam. Google reviews says the same thing

I'm thinking that if it's really cold there might be a price increase...

Really though, put yourself in the tow operator's shoes. You wouldn't run a 2 mile load for $6 in pay so why should a tow truck do the same?
