2007 Kenworth T800, cab and sleeper ac.
System sometimes works, sometimes, it no worky. Will peg high pressure gauge, and show about 10 lbs on the low side then compressor will lose power- (apparently binary switch is doing it's job); then it will work fine for awhile, numbers are good on gauges. Trouble shooting guide, and company mechanic both say to replace the expansion valve, but cannot find the info tag that states how much refrigerant the system holds. Compressor is the Sandorn (?), round one, think it is called a rotary vane?
If anyone knows the amount, and/or where that info tag is located; (it may be on my truck, and I'm just not looking in the right place.), would appreciate it.

    Yes, :biggrin_255:
I'm also replacing the drier/filter, yes I have the gauges and vacuum pump, just don't know how much R-134 to go back with. Also, should I add any compressor oil when doing the re-charge?
    Thanks in advance!!

Should be labeled on the receiver/drier. 3 lbs roughly without a sleeper if using 134a is a safe bet. An axpansion valve sticking will usually show the low side below 0 or in a vaccumn. But they are cheap and if your opening the system "after a proper evacuation" you might as well change it.

The label on the drier will tell how much 134a to put in and how much oil. If the label is worn just phone and ask a dealer. They can tell you from the sin#.

With the compressor reaching the high pressure cutout, I would look at fan control for a possible intermittent problem. I would also be suspecting the system is overcharged and would address this first. I highly doubt the expansion valve is the problem as it wouldn't drive your high side up.
