I will be moving to TX in the next few months and wanted to know how much do base plates cost in TX? I will be running in state only with a belly or end dump so I have no need for IFTA. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thank you![]()

You'll be getting combination plates if you're only running intra Texas. I run Apportioned which is about $1700 a year but I get to run Token Trailer tags for $35 a year with that. I want to say I heard (no personal experience) that the Combination plates were almost double. That could be way off though. Hopefully someone else will chime in that has first hand experience.

Ok, I can help again..... 80k combos are like $833. plus $550 road use tax ( 2290 ) OWP is $546.00 for 4 k over gross and no good on the interstate.
All the bears know buckets run heavy cause your paid by the ton.......if he catches you on the interstate it's going to hurt...... I'm talking tears when you write the check. Not worth the risk, not even close.

Forgot one thing....spread axle good for 40k on all roads. If you were to consider a rig like that. Drop axles are valued at the carrying cap of the tires mounted.
JMOluckytx52 Thanks this.
