Is there a way to get a good guesstimate on how much they charge customers to haul their freight? Particularly the general freight and reefer companies?

This question is very hard to answer cause every customer is different and every company is different, and most importantly every Load is different... and then there are brokers, who hook up companies with loads to move with companies with trucks that run the routes of the freight that needs moving... there’s not a simple answer to your question!
-
How about a price range?
-
Rates range wildly from literally penny’s per mile (.75/80) for very very cheap freight to as much $5 plus dollars per mile.... I would GUESS and notice I said guess... the average pay per mile is 2.25-2.75
Remember the excepted is it COST about 1.25-1.50 per mile just to move a truck, so to make a profit, rates must be above and beyon this point... then brokers have a cut, the owner has to make money and so on.... -
95 cents everyday. Just counting money.

When do carriers get paid by the load?
-
Oldironfan Thanks this.

Did you read my last post.... before the jumping green frog came into play? That’s my answer for what carriers get paid.... there is no real answer for you question... my answer was in general terms as is your question!
Oldironfan Thanks this. -
When do carriers get paid? Well, again difficult question because it varies by carrier and their relationship with the company shipping freight.... for the most part though, carriers bill upon completion of the load and they have signed copies that the receiver has possession of the freight.

You just asked if there's an easy way to figure out what stocks are worth basically. It's a very fluid market and the prices change by the minute. It's whatever you can get someone to pay you basically.
You really need to give us some more context. If you ask really nicely and tell us the general city to city lane I might even take a real educated guess at it.HappySafeLegalDriver and Oldironfan Thank this.
