How many leveling valves are typically on a spread axle trailer, one on each axle or just the rear?
I bought a special built Great Dane van with two sliders that'll work as tandem or spread, but it only has one leveler on the rear axle. I was told that was ok. Dump valves for each axle, btw.

Most air ride trailers only have one leveling valve. I've owned quite a few and thats all there has ever bin, one on the rear axel.
-
Usually there is only one valve per trailer. But a few guys have been known to run one per axle. The problem with running one per axle is that getting the axles to hold equal weight and same suspension height.
-
But they are rare, really rare, so over 90% of trailers got one leveling valve only. one for all axes. -
Thanks, that at least puts my mind at ease. At some point, someone that's worked on this trailer seemed to halfa$$ the repairs. I wanted to be sure.
It's was a custom built 98 trailer, it's fairly unusual. Alum floor, SS nose and rear doors, Trucklite LED's all around, 24.5 alum wheels, dump valves and it came with a fixed front axle and sliding rear, but someone has converted the front to slide as well. It also has some backup lights in the middle holes on the tail lights, not sure how they're wired yet. -
pics would be great.. I'd like to see a front and rear axle sliding...

Leveling valves on both axles would lead to weight distubution problems, especially if grossing 80,000
I've never seen it and not sure one could get it to work well. But there are alot of smart people out there. Like the dual steer axles on the milatary trucks.
I also would like to see pictures, please.
