How long should it take to replace a windshield?

    I drive a 2015 freightliner cascadia.

The windshield has a big crack and my company has routed me to the closest terminal to get the windshield replaced.

Just wondering how long a windshield should take to replace so I can get back on the road

If it's in stock maybe 1 to 2 hours. Doesn't take long

I wouldn't think it'd take any longer than a car. Couple hours if it gets glued in they have to cut the old windshield out and allow the urethane glue to set up on the new one.

Also depends how busy the shop is. You might have to wait your turn.

the last one I had to get replaced took 45 minutes, average we figure 2 hours of down time for my fleet.

    Yeah not long.

Some companies will take forever to do anything though.

Yea for the actual work and dry time 1-2 hours max. Since you are being routed to a company terminal you likely should plan for overnight. Sucks, but then so do way too many company shops.

Last time I talked to our shop (Ryder), they were saying new glass is a rock magnet. I have a small chip on my passenger side, hasn't grown in 10+months.
