It says 45 days I know trying to figure out the average. Place I got hired pays more for hazmat.

I put in for my hazmat endorsement in Virginia back in November 2014 and it took about two weeks for it to clear.

You can call and tell them you need it done. Leave a message for the rep in your area. They will call you back and usually process it within 24 hours

Yes I was once told the same long period of time, and it was only about 3 weeks for me the first time. I was once told it does depend on the time of year when one goes for the finger printing/background checks. If for instance 10 million drivers (just using a number here, don't get excited) all have thier CDL due to expire say in December, and everyone goes for the background check in November, there may be a backlog, compared to (say) 5 drivers going in April for thier renewal.

What is I think important to remember is that when the drivers gets a notice in the mail that he has passed, the leter gets emailed to the state DMV as well. NEVER throw away that letter you get, and take it with you to the DMV "just in case" the DMV did not get a copy as well.

Every time now when I get my hazmat/license renewed, on average, it takes 2 weeks now.

something else too, in case no one was/or is aware of. You will need a Certified copy of your birth certificate. At the bottom corner of that, is a serial number (of sorts) that YOU WILL NEED to enter on the online form when you register to get the finger printing done. When I was born, back in cave man days, all my folks got was a paper certificate the hospital hands out. For years and years, that was all the proof anyone needed to show country of birth, time, d ate, sex, etc, etc.

But for the hazmat finger printing form, they WANT a certified copy number.

I had to get my copy, at my state health dept, records division, and cost me $15.00. Where any of you have to go, I cannot say.

That was me too. However; they DID say they screwed up some how the first time, and it wasn't supposed to take 6 weeks....but I have never seen it faster than 2 weeks here in Iowa.
