Anybody have an idea how long a regular traffic ticket remains on your DMV record? I am not talking about a dui or reckless driving. Just something like a speeding ticket.

I am not totally sure , but, Seems to me it hangs around for 3 years or so.
There are some rules to getting one at least in certain states. you must report getting one. -
I think its there forever but a friend told me you can a ticket motioned to be removed by a judge but I dont klnow how true that is.

The points drop off at three years.
Thanks, I knew it , I just knew it. I have not had a ticket in over 20 years now.
But she is right, Actually every thing you do in life is recorded somewhere.

Actually it depends on the State. Here in Calif normal tickets are removed from your record after 7 years.

In ohio.. the police can run a NCIC report an it will show every thing on your record.. mine shows 2 over weights from 15 years ago.. My boy is a deputy sheriff an I had him pull up mine..it even shows all your DL pics..mullets an all

I've had two licenses and 4 or so license pictures.... hehehe. -
The points drop off, but here in Florida the record goes back at least 7 years. I forget if they have a lifetime record.
