I'm sure every region is different. I was western regional. Long wait for live loads and same for unloads. Almost zero drop and hook. If you have a problem, it can take hours to talk to a live person on the phone. Qualcomm had long delay as well. Zero paid detention time. 4 to 8 hours for a live load or unload --average about 6 hours. Run about 1500 miles a week. This was my experience with sni, not second hand into.

I'm Midwest regional, almost all drop and hook but only 2-3000 miles a week on a good week. mostly because I only drive at night, your mileage may vary.

Regional sucks compared to otr but you get home time.

Regional will only average about 2000 miles a week with most carriers, if you're trying to reset at home every weekend. I run regional out of the Dallas OC, and this is an odd week but I'll clear over 2500 miles this week. Left Dallas OC loaded on Sunday morning, d&h in San Antonio, live load in Schulenberg, will delv tomorrow morning in Charlotte NC. Already preplanned for a run from Charlotte to Montgomery AL to get me headed back to Dallas.

For me, it's Schneider, LTL, or Tankers (preferably dry bulk). I'm not interested in running coast to coast bringing produce, or whatever, from California to the east.
