Not hard if you study. I think the air was kinda hard for me because I had no clue what it was. I read about it but didn't understand it until I saw it in person

It's not that bad with a little studying. I'll tell you my approach to getting prepared. I read the manual a couple times in my spare time. I then went online and found practice tests. They kind of tip you off to what's on the actual test. I then went back through the manual and highlighted in yellow the areas I thought the test would focus on based on the practice tests. I then focused on studying the highlighted areas.
I took all of the tests you mentioned plus, doubles triples, and tanker and only missed 6 questions.
Good luck to you.d o g Thanks this. -
The test isn't hard once you are familiar with the material. The study guide is a difficult read though. Here is a way to make it an easier read. Every few pages there will be a test your knowledge quiz section. Read the question, go through the previous couple of pages and find the answer and read that paragraph, then read the paragraph immediately before and after the paragraph that contains the correct answer. Then move on to the next question, repeat several times. With a little work the test is less difficult.
Be cautious! Don't focus on only the class A information, the test you take is ignorant to the class license that you are trying to get. The same General Knowledge test is used for class A, B, or C.
Once you are familiar with the material, take some online practice tests, many, such as the ones on this site, are free. Best of luck. -
Actually now I remember how I did it. I did 1 test at a time. General 1st week. Study again, combination 2nd week, 3 was air. Just so I won't have to cram all 3 test in 1 day

In the Ohio CDL book from the BMV, there are study questions at the end of each section. I found that most of the test questions come from those study questions.
Read each section, then write down the answer to all the study questions by looking up the answers. Study that and you'll be good. I did it that way and the people at the license bureau said it one of the highest scores they'd ever seen. Piece of cake. (Sorry for braggin') -
Go to the opening page/home page of this website "The Truckers Report" and click on "CDL Practice Tests."
Memorize the answers and you will pass.
When you test for your hard copy cdl you will also have to pass the "Pre-Trip Inspection" which is the hardest part of CDL school. YouTube videos show how to do this.ajohnson Thanks this. -
