How does the dpf system work on a 2017 x15 cummins ?

    I’m not real familiar with these newer emission engines so just trying to understand this truck I bought . Knowledge is key, right ? I’ve always known about the 7th injector to heat up the dpf so it can burn off the soot while it’s injecting fuel. I was looking for this injector and couldn’t find it. Did some googling and saw a post about the 2017 x15 not having a 7th injector . So how does it exactly work ?

    The dosing is done in cylinder. Fuel is injected into the combustion chamber on the exhaust stroke after combustion. The raw hydrocarbons then go out the exhaust for the heat needed for regeneration. No more 7th injector on the X15.
