Let's say I apply to a mega carrier or who ever and I am hired.
When I go home and get ready to go back to work do I go to a terminal?
Do you ever visit the company headquarters?
Or do you keep the truck with you and park it until you start driving again?
OTR is not my thing but I am curious as to how this works.
How does terminals work?

Every situation is different, but most mega carriers have terminals all across the country. You will usually be assigned a home terminal that is closest to your home. Many drivers park their personal vehicles at their home terminal. When you take home time, you park your rig at the terminal, get in your own vehicle and go home. There are different scenarios, but the one I described is typical for drivers who work for large carriers.

You get 6 months of forms from driver supply room. All the forms you ever need. Most of today should be electronic but eh...
Headquarters is not a place for driver. You don't want to be around HQ.
If you have a home with land good enough to take a big truck on a route that is pretty hot in the country, you go home when possible with the whole thing. Neighbors are pretty decent when crank at 2 am on a monday because they all have to work at 6... Be 6 months before they see us again. -
