My 2 trainers with Prime don't trip plan and basically just hunt for a place to stop when their hours start getting low. I know this isn't ideal since there are areas where you can be 100 miles away from a safe place to stop.
My question is how do you trip plan exactly?

Well I can't answer the question right now but it begs the question - isn't the term "trainer" being used wrong here?

My trip plan for the load I pick up tomorrow. I don't move the truck if I don't have a trip plan in place. I need a destination.

Combination of my Truck Stop Pocket Guide and Tablet/GPS. I'll pick out an area with truckstops or one of our company yards and enter them into my GPS and watch the ETA time against my log time.
I have pushed it hard sometimes time wise with company yards just because I know I won't be burned looking for parking there, but show up with just 10 to 30 minutes left because I watched my log time against my GPS time and I knew I was okay to make it.Longarm Thanks this. -
