How do you takeoff the Bendix AD-IP air dryer filter?

I practically got a hernia trying to remove this...how do you take it off? Apparently its a filter that you can change out. I thought you had to replace the whole unit. I've got oil in my air lines and I think its time to replace this. Might be time for a new compressor as well.

Yes, 1 big bolt on the bottom. Do not cheap on a new cartridge, I'd only get genuine Bendix. I've seen a lot of aftermarket replacements come apart on the IP's and put desiccant through the air system. If you ever need to replace it, and AD-SP or Wabco SS1200 is an easy swap and has the easier spin on filters. I've never seen a spin on come apart, even the cheap aftermarket ones.
