I was advised on this forum to run my Truck hard for a few days. To break in a inframe rebuild and eliminate a engine slobber that is currently going on.
My normal rpm while going down the road is 1500 rpm in 10th gear. What do I need to do to "Run the truck hard"?
How do you run a truck hard?

Pound her on bad roads with crumbling pavement and horrible bridges until something breaks.alds, mile marker 27 and Coffey Thank this. -
You want to maximize the load on the engine. Make it pull hard. Watch your EGT so you don't melt it down.

Pull the chicken stick half way. Drive until trailer tires almost ignite. Return stick to normal position.

It's my truck I need to run hard.
I've got some modest 4% 1 mile hills on a local interstate. 10 th gear at 1500 gives me 65 mph, 1700 gives me 70 mph and sounds like its revving quite a bit.
How about 9th gear at 2200 rpm on the hills.

RPM doesn't always equal load. It might actually be working the engine less hard by dropping a gear. Honestly, just put a heavy trailer behind the truck and go. JMO.

Stay on the go pedal
Rideandrepair and Coffey Thank this.
