How do you open the Hood on a 2013 Cascadia Freightliner? I released both latches and pulled with all my might. Is there something I'm missing? Maybe a safety latch/Hood release somewhere?

Cascadia latches suck.
I invented new swear words because of those things.zoekatya and jeepnut_nh Thank this. -
Are you sure they released or did the latch handle just pull back? Sometimes the receiver for the latch has to be pulled towards you in order for the latch hook to actually swing free of the receiving bar assembly

At the bottom of each latch , there is a J shaped hook you need to pop out . Once both sides are free should be a one hand pull .

Pull the end of each latch outwards is all there is to it. Make sure you are sitting on flat ground too because the frame might flex. If it still isn't budging then maybe it needs some adjusting or greasing. Write it up.

I think I read it wrong, duh! I think he is unlatched he just can't lift it.
Put both hands on the hood handle and your right foot in the bumper. You might have to use your weight to help with the initial umph!zoekatya Thanks this. -
Thanks for all the insightful help!

It's a very bad design. An example of over-engineering.CondoCruiser Thanks this. -
...and the hoods fit very tight. After you've pulled back the J-hooks, give a little push on the bottom of the hood to loosen it up. No one can pull my hood without first doing that.

I am driving a 2013 Cascadia. The other posts are right...PITA. you pull the latch down, then push it back up a little and get your finger on that J hook on the bottom and make sure it pops off that post in there. After that, push on the hood a little and you'll see it's free...repeat on other side....
