It seems that they list used trucks for sale that sometimes arent even listed on the common truck sale sites like arrow truck sales and the commercial paper. I wanted to know if they are a good place to buy a truck https://www.mhc.com/
How do you feel about MHC truck sales?

When it comes to used trucks, they are just another used truck dealer. Buyer beware, do your due diligence, and all that. On the plus side, MHC (and Arrow for that matter) have a captive financing company. In house and exists to help the dealer sell trucks. Usually competitive rates and less hassle to get a deal.
Whatever you do, don't ever think that you're getting anything special by buying a used truck from the dealer that sells and services that brand. Also, even if there's a fully equipped service department right there, take it somewhere else for a pre-purchase eval and dyno. I'd also be wary of any offers to resolve punchlist repairs noted by the evaluation. Especially if they're free or deeply discounted like they're doing you a favor. Don't do it. Been there, done that, got the bruises. Get a quote from somewhere else you trust, and negotiate the sale price considering that. Or just walk. Too many used trucks for sale to go through too many flaming hoops for that one.rabbiporkchop, nightgunner, LoneCowboy and 4 others Thank this. -
Very pricey, both sales and service. One contributor recommended checking price by looking at Ritchie Auctions. I did, and it's a really great comparison to see how prices line up. It seems to me all these big corporations need to charge high pricing to cover overhead, satisfy profit requirements for the shareholders, and pay for their Obamacare costs.
mitmaks Thanks this. -
their shop labor rate is $155/hr flat rate,,company I am working with bought a used truck last November, in the first 50 miles check engine light came on and it cost $1500 to fix it and they would not cover the cost,,they are a mega dealer and cater to large companies,,not a good place for a small carrier or a one truck owner to buy from or deal with

I bought my T600 from MHC KW in Concord, NC. Like some others have said, MHC is just another dealer. Don't go there expecting to get a truck for real cheap. Even if it should be a real cheap truck they're not gonna let it go for real cheap. Sometimes they'll have good trucks, sometimes they'll have bad trucks, but they'll try to sell you one either way. Get your own dyno and oil sample done.
Just look around all over, TruckPaper is a good place to start. You can find good trucks and bad trucks for sale all over, from all types of dealers, individuals, etc. Cover your ***!!! -
Typical KENWORTH DEALER they know how to OVER CHARGE
-
Weird you guys say that they are expensive yet arrow trucks and commercial paper had the same trucks I was interested in for a higher price. Unless you guys are the type who like to buy million mile trucks that are for $18k so you consider $60k for a T700 high?
-
Buy your $60K T700 then get them to do some repairs and you will see the reason for my earlier comment.
Vampire, nightgunner and true blue Thank this. -

It's a subsidiary to get rid of old lease trucks for MHC leasing.
You'll get a used fleet truck that was driven by rookies it's whole life.
