If you pull different trailers how do you carry a spare tire on your truck?

Is there a tire carrier that you can buy?

one company i worked for, had a spare tire carrier mount on the back of the cab. since all the tires were the same size, from that, it did not matter where it got put onto the vehicle.

in later companies, when ever i'd have a flat, the company called out road service, and i got a brand new tire mounted.

you'd have to chain it and lock it, to prevent theft if you get one.

If you are pulling different trailers, let the company that owns the trailers deal with it via roadside repair.

I’ve seen some companies carry “super single” tires on the side of their truck frame between the fuel tanks and drive tires. Make some measurements to see if you can fit yours.

The other option is right behind your truck cab, above the cat walk. That’s probably the simplest method for dual single tires. Some Swift trucks have this setup.

If you do carry tires, make sure your spare tire is no more than 5/32” in tread depth to your truck tires. If you don’t want to worry much about tread depth, you can carry two spare tires, both within 5/32” of one another. However, if you need to replace one tire, you’ll have to replace the other dual single next to it to be able to use your two spare tires together.

Well I'm talking about carrying a spare for my tractor so that I won't have to call for road service or at least if I have to call them I won't have to purchase a new tire until I get back.

I would like to carry it on the catwalk but I would think you would need some kind of days fixture to put it in.

Otherwise as the cab on air ride moves up and down the frame stays in the same spot and the tire will rub against the cab.

Um, unless you have an 1" drive impact with you, and the compressor to run it, good luck. Flat tires are really a thing of the past, and I'd just have an air chuck on your glad hands and air it up to get to a shop.
