    Hi ALL,

My hubbie is still driving the kiddies around and its driving him nuts!:biggrin_2557: We've been looking for other jobs but no luck so far. I did find a staffing agency that seems to staff drivers but they said he must have a DOT card. Is it the same as his Highway Watch card? I know its a dumb question:biggrin_2552: If its not how does he get one? He works as a county school bus driver and he has a CDL B with passenger and air brake endorsements. His driving record is excellent..no points no accidents, etc.

What do you guys think about him going to a technical school vs a trucking school to get his CDL A? (read some where that technical schools are offering CDL schooling)

Thanks to you all for the help:yes2557:

I'm assuming they mean the physical card. Just go to your DR or any clinic and tell them that you want a DOT physical. They'll handle the rest.

Probably had one then. They do expire. The longest they are good for is 2 yrs. The card should say on it when it expires. If there is no date just assume its 2 yrs from time of exam.

As for technical school or trucking school, you are looking at 3 months compaired to 3 weeks.

First of all most schools are 3 weeks., and Truck companies will pay for your schooling if you sign a contract to drive for them for 2 years. 46 is not old for trucking. alot of displaced people in their 50's become drivers. You must not have a BAD driving record. No DWI's last 3 -5 yrs. Have not robbed banks or killed anyone!
No pet's in company trucks. If your Gay, find a different career!

do NOT go to a school paid trucking school. it is asking for trouble.

50% of truckers are gay. (90% of statistics are made up on the spot too!). Just be careful. And for godssakes, don't do the clicky clicky thing on the cb to get some. so annoying!
